How long will the results of dermal filler injections last?

The effects of dermal fillers can last for up to 18 months but this will vary from person to person. It depends on their skin, the area treated and the amount and type of fillers used. At Health & Aesthetics we use Juvederm Vycross which is a premium hyaluronic acid filler that will last for up to 18 months. Other types of hyaluronic acid fillers do not last as long. Juvederm Vycross achieves a long-lasting natural look and feel whether it is used to lift or define certain areas of the face.

The results will gradually fade over time until your skin returns to its previous state. You can choose to have ‘touch up’ procedures to maintain the look created by dermal fillers.

How long does it take for dermal fillers to work?

You can expect the results of the procedure to be visible immediately after having the treatment. If there is any swelling then this should take a couple of weeks to settle down.

Is it possible to have an allergic reaction to dermal fillers?

we use hyaluronic acid fillers and collagen-stimulating fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found inside the human body so a reaction to this substance is extremely rare. Collagen stimulating fillers, such as Radiesse, are made from calcium, a substance also found naturally in the body so, again, reactions are very rare.

Immediately after the treatment, there may be a slight redness, swelling, tenderness, a faint bubble like appearance and an itching sensation in the treated area. These side-effects are a normal result of the injection and will generally disappears gradually over a period of 7-14 days.
