Government will launch campaign to reduce botched plastic surgery by urging patients to avoid using cowboys or home procedures

The Government will launch a campaign to crack down on botched Botox and filler injections which NHS doctors are being left to repair.

Health officials will warn people considering the cosmetic procedures not to use unqualified beauticians or risk injuring themselves by doing it at home.

Dermal fillers and Botox can cause infections and painful swelling if they aren’t injected properly.

Hundreds of people have already revealed the shocking consequences of the beauty treatments – intended to give people fuller lips and fewer wrinkles – going wrong.
